Producer Bio

A fan of minor chords, groovy yet subtle house music, and jazz soundscapes with acid flourishes, Steven Julien – a.k.a. Funkineven – released his first material on Floating Points and Alex Nut's Eglo label. Now fronting up his own imprint named Apron, Julien is a symbol of a young generation of artists to have emerged from the ultra-dynamic UK scene.

Funkineven was a regular at CDR during it's time at Plastic People, where he met and became acquinted with future collaborators like Fatima and Alexander Nut.
