Producer, DJ and singer Cooly G (AKA Merissa Campbell) since signing in 2009 has grown to become a figurehead of the Hyperdub tapestry. The single mother of two’s club-oriented productions are rooted with the hallmarks of dub and UK funky, and with further explorations utilising her vocals producing more laid back “bedroom” productions with just as much attitude, Cooly’s aptitude is unquestionable.
Running her own Dub Organizer imprint has afforded Cooly to pass on a platform for other talents than herself championing house to dubstep and UK garage. We look forward to learning how she balances her career and family, including a devastating fire that flipped her life around last year. And of course delving into some productions that have helped define her career until this day.
The session will be hosted live on our Facebook page and Youtube. We want the element of community connection felt at our regular CDR Sessions to be a big part of these online sessions too, so we encourage you all to get involved in the chat. We hope you’ll also meet some like-minded musicians and music fans and we will be selecting questions from the chat to pose to our guest.
The conversation will be followed by an Open CDR session filled with work-in-progress tracks from the CDR community, streamed across our channels also. Submit your track to be played on our livestream:

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
If you have any questions or want to support in other ways please contact us at support-us@createdefinerelease.com
