CDR Sessions | Karen Nyame KG
We’re back at Corsica Studios for our first London session of the year with one of the most exciting artists on the capital's club scene for the past decade.
Dubbed as the “Goddess of Rhythm”, KG’s plethora of African polyrhythms, low-end sub-basses, and energetic drum patterns are surefire to showcase the evolving sound of London’s club music hybridity and bounce. Jamz Supernova's Future Bounce label released her standout collab single with UNIIQU3 titled, B2B / Black Roses at the end of 2020. Following that, the summer soaked ‘Sensei II’ EP on Black Acre Records took things to a new level; covering everything from the empowerment of women, to love, sexuality and desire, high vibrations, and partying and beyond. Collaborating with a host of incredible artists including Aymos, Toya Delazy, Taliwhoah and Mista Silva, Sonically, the project spans afrobeats, UK Funky, gqom, R’n’B and beyond. Her sound firmly rooted in the African diaspora, KG wanted the essence of ‘back home’ to be felt throughout the whole project.
For those new to CDR, the Session includes an in-depth, production focussed interview with Karen Nyame KG where we'll go deep on her career and creative process. Before and after the interview there will be a chance for any aspiring producers in the audience to have their work in progress tracks played on the club soundsystem.

This event is free, although we do encourage everyone who can afford to donate £5 to CDR to do so we can continue producing events like this that are accessible to everyone regardless of financial limitations. CDR is a registered Community Interest Company, meaning we invest all profits and surpluses back into our own projects and community.

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
