Kerrie
Irish DJ and producer Kerrie, now based in Manchester is a powerhouse of multidisciplinary talent. Known for her excellently curated DJ sets spanning across ambient, EBM, acid, electro and techno.
With appearances at Berlin’s Tresor, Freerotation and her live sets becoming a must see, as a producer, her music has found a home on labels Don’t Be Afraid, Cultivated Electronics, I Love Acid and Symbolism. In 2020, she founded her own imprint Dark Machine Funk (DMF), which allows her love for dark, gritty, industrial sounds to run free.
A key figure in the Manchester scene after working at one of the U.K.’s most well respected record shops Eastern Bloc for 11 years and founding their in house event space, a local space which nurtures up and coming talent, her deep investment in electronic music can be found all over the city.
We’re thrilled to be welcoming her to Manchester’s Soup Kitchen for a deep dive into her creative process.
For those new to CDR Sessions, the event centres on an in-depth, production focussed interview with the guest artist, exploring their career and creative process. Our events are for all music lovers, producers and non-producers alike. The talk is flanked by ‘OpenCDR’ - a DJ set of audience music submissions. This is a chance for music makers to:
- Hear your own music on an amazing club sound system
- Artists of all experience levels welcome
- No restrictions - all genres & styles welcome
- Bring your music at any stage of development - from rough idea to final master, and everything in between
- Join a supportive community of artists & producers

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
