Mia Koden
Previously known as one half of Sicaria Sound, Mia Koden has forged her own identity and career. Based in South London, the South Sudanese and British music producer and DJ, spreads her love for global music through working across heritage, culture and community projects.
Merging her love for forward thinking 140 and high energy bass and bass percs heavy productions, this next chapter sees her moving towards a more genreless focus. Her 2022 multi-genre 100% production mix, Made by Mia Koden, was a showcase of her wide spanning talent. In the same year, her well received debut release “Hot Take / I Did”, is an exploration of dance music with 2-step, UK steppas, electro and dub all featuring.
We’re thrilled to be welcoming her to South East London’s Corsica Studios for a deep dive into the Queen of Dubstep’s creative process.
For those new to CDR Sessions, the event centres on an in-depth, production focussed interview with the guest artist, exploring their career and creative process. Our events are for all music lovers, producers and non-producers alike. The talk is flanked by ‘OpenCDR’ - a DJ set of audience music submissions. This is a chance for music makers to:

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
