CDR Sessions | Kay Suzuki
CDR is teaming up with Sheffield's audiophile party crew Apricot Ballroom for an artist talk with DJ, producer and Time Capsule label boss Kay Suzuki.
As well as releasing some of the most unique, infectious and soul infused dance music over the past decade or so, Kay Suzuki also runs the incredible Time Capsule reissue label with Pol Vals, with a focus on unearthing some super unusual gems from around the world. He's also one of London's most prized DJ's, with his mind and body bending sets at the now legendary Beauty and the Beat parties becoming the stuff of legend.
For those new to CDR, the Session includes an in-depth, production focussed interview with Kay Suzuki where we'll go deep on his career and creative process. Before and after the interview there will be a chance for any aspiring producers in the audience to have their work in progress tracks played on the club soundsystem, ahead of Apricot Ballroom's party with Kay Suzuki at Bal Fashions later that night, which you can buy tickets to here: ra.co/events/1492708

This event is free, although we do encourage everyone who can afford to donate £5 to CDR to do so we can continue producing events like this that are accessible to everyone regardless of financial limitations. CDR is a registered Community Interest Company, meaning we invest all profits and surpluses back into our own projects and community.

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
