Florentino
Manchester based producer and DJ Florentino joins us in this Artist Talk to share his music making process and creative journey. Find out how he makes music that compliments a sonic reflection of his heritage, marrying the sounds of latin rhythms & uk low end focus.
Florentino is a British-Colombian producer and DJ that has been blazing a trail of cross-cultural club sounds for the best part of a decade. With a plethora of further releases through numerous esteemed labels, his most recent output “Kilometro Quinze” found a home on XL Recordings, bolstered with features from contemporaries Bambii, KD One, DJ Python and Shygirl. Florentino’s aptitude for expressing his own cultural makeup is emboldened through his curation of Club Romantico - his label and party serving as a bridge & home for all things between UK & LATAM club sonics.
For those new to CDR Sessions, the event centres on an in-depth, production focussed interview with the guest artist, exploring their career and creative process. Our events are for all music lovers, producers and non-producers alike. The talk is flanked by ‘OpenCDR’ - a DJ set of audience music submissions.
This is a chance for music makers to:

- Artists of all experience levels welcome
- No restrictions - all genres & styles welcome
- Bring your music at any stage of development - from rough idea to final master, and everything in between

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
