Artist Talk | SIM
SIM pushes the boundaries in Sound System Music - taking up the Dub and Dancehall sound theories of Lee 'Scratch' Perry, King Tubby and Dave Kelly or Techno pioneers such as Plastikman or Jeff Mills, SIM explores the relationship between space, body and sound.
In 2018, with the release of 'Pu$$ycat' featuring the Catalan duo Crimen Pasional, SIM made himself heard on a global scale. Since then, the Montreal-based producer has collaborated with the likes of Brodinski, Sinjin Hawke, Madam X, Doctor Jeep, DJ Plead, Toumba, and Poirier, amongst others. His recent releases include the 'Sumergir' EP with Sueuga on Sacrilejio Records, 'Sulum EP' on the Berlin-based label SPE:C, 'SINNAZ EP' with NAP on ISLA Records, and 'Terminate EP' on the iconic London label Nervous Horizon.
Watch our immersive conversation with SIM as he uncovers the production process behind some of his most popular tracks.

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
