This summer, CDR hosted its first MPC x Afrorack session; a collaboration between CDR, Resident Advisor and Afrorack.

Afrorack are a Chicago based audio arts organization committed to providing children and young adults of color access to modular synthesizers and sound design tools.  We love what they do and so when RA helped bring them over to the UK, we saw it as a fantastic opportunity to work with a like minded community with similar goals and aspirations.  After a few conversations, we ended up collaborating on a joint Music Producer Club (MPC) session at the Stratford Youth Zone.

This experience allowed young people in Newham ages 14-25 to gain hands-on experience using hardware, synthesizers and drum machines, while Afrorack and CDR producer/educators shared their best practice with each other.

A big shout out goes to Aaron Guice and RA for making this happen. We look forward to having Afrorack back again in the autumn.
